Our Story

The Hatch story started when good friends Adam Jacobs (Ex THE ICONIC Founder) and Chaz Heitner (Ex Zip Co-founder) came together to build something they were deeply passionate about.

Both founders believe that traditional hiring processes are broken and limit people from finding work that’s a good fit for them. Since founding the company, Adam and Chaz have built a team that shares their mission and are both confident they will continue to build an impactful global company for many years to come.

AI summarised feedback about Amazon, based on Glassdoor company reviews.

Glassdoor rating

Last 12 months

4.2

Pros
  • Working with intelligent people, endless learning opportunities
  • The freedom, autonomy, and level of ownership you have within your role is excellent
  • Good benefit, plenty of learning opportunities
Cons
  • Some employees may feel that the company's employment practices are somewhat antiquated, with a lack of flexibility in work arrangements and a tendency for a promised four-day workweek to extend into five days, potentially leading to a sense of disappointment regarding work-life balance.
  • There appears to be a sentiment among staff that career advancement opportunities are limited, especially within the first year, and that support for career progression may be lacking unless one has a manager with strong mentorship abilities, which could contribute to feelings of stagnation or frustration.
  • Employees might experience a sense of being overwhelmed due to high expectations and workloads, which could be exacerbated by on-call duties and extensive internal requirements such as time-consuming documentation, leading to a perception of a challenging work environment.

It may be a global organisation, but Amazon and AWS have kept their entrepreneurial vibe through their "Day 1" mentality, doing everything with the energy and entrepreneurial spirit of a new organisation on its first day.
