About the role

This is a key 2nd Line role that is responsible for supporting the credit stress testing execution for the annual Group and Industry Stress Testing. 

Under the current operating model, this role has no direct reports but is required to work together with the Executive Manager Stress Testing Risk and Data and their direct reports to be responsible for: •          Support credit stress testing execution,  •          Provide SME knowledge,  •          Undertake portfolio deep dives, and •          Improve current processes.   Key Accountabilities include:

  • Support the development of the plan for Stress Testing cycles and any ad hoc requests.
  • Leading the calculation of the stress test results with a focus on credit outputs. 
  • Review of the data that has been collected. 
  • Review stress testing methodology for the credit component. 
  • Ensure that results are produced accurately and on a timely basis. 
  • Production of clear and concise reports of Stress Test Results in a timely manner. 
  • Interpret the results of sensitivity analysis and be able to explain these to various stakeholders
  • Support Executive Manager and Head of Stress Testing as required. 
  • Drive continuous improvement activities in relation of production of Stress Test Credit Results. 
  • Deliver insights from stress testing results for key portfolios and industries to business users

The ideal candidate will possess an applied degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics, and have extensive experience with relevant software tools such as SAS, R, Python, and Power BI.

  • In-depth knowledge of credit modelling and a thorough understanding of IFRS9 provisioning.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, systems infrastructure and internal/external reporting.
  • Regulatory / Industry Knowledge: At least 2-4 years’ experience in banking or financial services.
  • Proven Experience: 3 years in coding in SAS/SQL, knowledge of R/Python is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of climate risk stress testing and latest industry thinking would be advantageous.
  • Ability to code in SAS and have a basic understanding of other quantitative coding languages.
  • Risk Management: Being able to identify ahead of time the risks that may impact the stress test process and to put in action plans accordingly.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written, communication and stakeholder management skills working with internal stakeholders across multiple levels across the organisation.
