RACV is there for every one of its 2.1 million members providing roadside assistance, emergency home assist, eight resorts in three states, travel discounts and benefits, insurance, finance, member benefits and more. In the community, RACV partners with five selected non-profit organisations annually in arts, environment, health and wellbeing, mobility and safety, and welfare. It provides financial support to each organisation to run specific programs that will benefit Victorians. RACV also provides numerous one-off grants for community projects throughout the state.

About the role

**About the Opportunity **   Are you passionate about travel? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Travel Consultant to join our industry leading travel agency team of experts. We pride ourselves on delivering great service and creating unforgettable travel experiences for our customers. You will enjoy variety working across multiple locations, including our CBD retail store and head office, as well as in the Eastern Suburbs retail stores, such as Doncaster & Knox.    **This could be just the right role for you? **   As a Travel Consultant, you will utilise your exceptional customer service skills and share your extensive knowledge of global destinations and passion for travel. You will be responsible for creating personalised travel itineraries managing the customer experience from beginning to end. Your key responsibilities for the role include:  

  • Promote holiday packages, flights, hotels, cruises, tours, experiences & insurance
  • Build relationships with customers face to face and online, managing new enquiries, quotes, itineraries, amendments and cancellations
  • Facilitate domestic & international travel bookings and payments between travellers & suppliers, using Amadeus GDS
  • Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings, cross selling & up selling of travel products
  • Manage travel credits, refunds and changes
  • Attend sales meetings and achieve sales targets & KPIs
  • Attend industry events ie. supplier & product events, ship inspections & travel expos

    Our retail store and office are based in Bourke St, Melbourne CBD. Our team work Monday – Friday 9am-5pm, with the requirement to attend occasional out of office industry events. The business may consider increasing to a 7-day trade in the future, with a requirement for staff to work weekends.    **What you’ll need to be successful **  

  • Flexibility to work in both CBD & Eastern Suburbs locations
  • Retail travel agency experience, essential
  • Certificate 3 in Travel or higher, preferred
  • GDS experience in Amadeus, Sabre or Galileo
  • Passion for travel industry and personal travel experience
  • Great customer service & communication skills
  • Excellent organisational, attention to detail & problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage workflow, set goals, meet sales targets & work productively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent personal presentation
