About You Dicker Data is looking for a strategic and passionate leader to join our Software Business Unit in the role of **Business Manager. **In this role, you will lead a team of sales, presales and product management specialists to grow vendor solutions from our existing reseller channel and new partners. You thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy working across cross-functional teams, and have the commercial acumen to drive results.   What you will do in the role Primary duties

  • Drive and exceed performance targets for the vendors under your responsibility.
  • Ensure profitability across all managed vendors within the Software Business Unit.
  • Lead a cross-functional team including sales, product managers, and technical pre-sales professionals.
  • Represent Dicker Data and your vendors at the executive level, including delivering impactful C-level presentations.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager - Software to define strategy and oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with vendors to track progress and realign goals.
  • Understand your vendor's market and competition to develop marketing strategies and manage co-funded marketing initiatives in line with vendor objectives.
  • Proactively identify and onboard new vendors to grow the Software Unit.
  • Recruit and build strong partner networks for each vendor you manage.

General duties

  • Provide exceptional sales support and customer service to Dicker Data's reseller network when required.
  • Maintain a professional image with all vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain deep product and process knowledge for the vendors you represent.
  • Educate and support internal staff and reseller partners on products, positioning, and sales processes.
  • Attend vendor and reseller social and training events, including occasional after-hours commitments.

   Desired Skills and Experience What you will need to succeed in the role

  • Experience in vendor and/or channel management within the software or IT industry.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to forecast, plan, and meet financial targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills – comfortable liaising at C-suite level.
  • Strategic mindset with high-level initiative, problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Sound knowledge of market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Experience in sales processes and customer relationship management essential: recognise the potential in customers; ability to forecast numbers against budget on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, interstate, and internationally as required.
