About the role
The Project Officer will be involved in organising and assisting with agreed work plan activities, public consultation processes, providing secretariat support for relevant committees, undertaking literature reviews and analysing information and drafting papers across the program areas.
Position duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Research and literature reviews and analyse data and expert opinion to obtain information to support the development of the Mental Health portfolio program.
- Collate, edit and draft consultation materials, submissions, correspondence, discussion papers, briefing notes and other written materials on projects associated with the program area.
- Project management activities.
- Procurement and contract management activities.
- Secretariat support for committees and expert groups.
The success candidate will have:
- Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills, including demonstrated sound judgement an innovative problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
- Demonstrated strong writing skills, including the ability to write high level documents including briefing papers, reviews, submissions and meeting papers.
- Demonstrated well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a small team.
- (Desirable) Some knowledge and understanding of key safety and quality issues relevant to the identified program areas (mental health).

Responsibilities
Execution and Project Management
Plan and deliver project plans by managing people, resources, budget, and timelines, to support the organization’s goals
Purchasing and Vendor Management
Manage suppliers and tasks, including negotiating contracts, controlling costs, reducing vendor-related risks, and ensuring service delivery
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with stakeholders to understand specifications, business requirements, and communicate insights.
