About the role

At GROW we are trying to disrupt the superannuation industry by providing super funds with a new administration platform using distributed ledger technology focuses on speed, accuracy, audibility, security and user experience. We believe that our product will ultimately lead to better financial wellbeing for everyone, by reducing the fees charged to manage your super. This means more money in your pockets.

We are looking for recent graduates to help us build out the next iteration of our core platform! You will be working closely with our Solution Architect, CTO, and Head of Engineering.

Note that this is a role for someone who has graduated or a student who is graduating soon and you will be hired directly by GROW Super on a salary basis. Please note that for this role you may be required to complete a tech assessment screening.

We'd love for you to be a key player in the delivery and build efforts throughout planning and the rollouts of system changes. You'll be developing highly scalable and performant applications for distributed mission-critical system and collaborating with cross-functional teams from Product, UX/UI, DevOps and Operations. You'll be prototyping ideas and create solutions using new frameworks and technologies

A really strong candidate would have experience that looks something like the following in addition to the description above (but don't worry you don't need to tick all the boxes!):

  • Demonstrable experience in non-functionals such as performance, scalability, security, maintainability
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks/issues in a large project

What tasks will you be doing?

  • Back-end Development: Programming, documenting, testing, and bug fixing software. Working experience with Java/Kotlin and Javascript (ES6) primarily in the backend is preferred. Experience with AWS, Postgres, MongoDB, Docker, and serverless/lambda technologies and experience in interacting with REST based APIs in web applications also valuable.
  • Integration: Commercial experience developing integration with third party systems via different integration channels

What capabilities do you have?

  • Attention to detail: The cost of mistakes in the work you are doing is high, so you’ll need to have attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
  • Creative problem solving: You’ll be working in a new area of our business, so you’ll need to create new and unique solutions to problems, rather than learning how to apply an existing approach.
  • Self organisation: You’ll be working on multiple projects across different teams so you’ll need to be able to work independently, organising your own time to effectively complete your work.
