THE ROLE

As Program and Policy Officer, you will assist the delivery of services, programs and policies to support Victoria's unpaid carers. You will be involved in delivery of key programs and initiatives that provide support to unpaid carers, including program management, evaluation and improvement. You will support stakeholder engagement and project work to implement key initiatives and track progress. You will be involved in research and data analysis to improve programs and service delivery to support carers, and provide expert input to key policy work. You will be a vibrant, agile and flexible team player, who maintains strong relationships and excels in supporting policy development and program delivery, data analysis and project work.

As Program and Policy Officer, reporting to the Manager Carers, you will be part of a small team delivering key programs and projects that recognise, support and sustain Victorian unpaid carers across the state. Unpaid carers come from a broad range of backgrounds and circumstances, and provide care and support to family members, friends and other community members who require care due to disability, terminal illness, mental health, or aged related care needs.

Your key role responsibilities involve supporting the delivery, oversight and quality assurance of the Victorian Support for Carers Program and the development and implementation of the Victorian Carers Strategy. This includes supporting funding and submission processes, engagement with funded providers, collation and analysis of program and performance data, and engagement with carers, the sector and cross government stakeholders. More broadly, you will contribute to the work of the Community Inclusion, Veterans and Youth Branch in the Disability, Faireness and Emergency Management Division.
