APS 6 Project Officer, Mental Health Program

The Project Officer will be involved in organising and assisting with agreed work plan activities, public consultation processes, providing secretariat support for relevant committees, undertaking literature reviews and analysing information and drafting papers across the program areas. Position duties include, but are not limited to, the following: - Research and literature reviews and analyse data and expert opinion to obtain information to support the development of the Mental Health portfolio program. - Collate, edit and draft consultation materials, submissions, correspondence, discussion papers, briefing notes and other written materials on projects associated with the program area. - Project management activities. - Procurement and contract management activities. - Secretariat support for committees and expert groups. The success candidate will have: - Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills, including demonstrated sound judgement an innovative problem solving skills. - Demonstrated project management skills and experience. - Demonstrated strong writing skills, including the ability to write high level documents including briefing papers, reviews, submissions and meeting papers. - Demonstrated well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. - Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a small team. - (Desirable) Some knowledge and understanding of key safety and quality issues relevant to the identified program areas (mental health). - Tertiary qualifications

APS 6 Project Officer, Aged Care Standards

The Aged Care Standards team is responsible for formulating a core set of clinical safety standards for aged care to address the clinical risk, and other safety and quality issues.  The Project Officer will support the development and implementation of Aged Care Standards. This work will involve organising and assisting with public consultation processes, providing secretariat support to program committees, undertaking literature reviews and analysing information, drafting papers across the program areas and providing project support. Position duties include: - Procurement and project management duties - Administration of committees and secretariat support - Manage program budgets - Research, review and analyse data, reports, published material and expert opinion The successful candidate will have: 1. Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills, including demonstrated sound judgement and innovative problem solving skills. 2. Demonstrated project management skills and experience. 3. Demonstrated strong writing skills, including the ability to write high level documents including briefing papers, reviews, submissions and meeting papers. 4. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively and develop productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders. 5. An understanding of Australia’s health care system and key safety and quality issues relevant to Aged Care Quality Standards. This role is for a period of 18 months.

The Communicating for Safety program recognises that communication is integral to all aspects of patient care. Communicating for safety involves the accurate and careful exchange of information about a person's care between treating clinicians, members of a multidisciplinary team, and between clinicians and patients, families and carers.  The Project Support Officer will support the program’s activities. This includes project planning and management, maintaining and updating resources, assisting in strategic planning and analysis, providing secretariat support for committees, preparing procurement and contract documentation.  Position duties include: - Procurement and project management duties - Administration of committees and secretariat support - Manage program budgets - Research, review and analyse data, reports, published material and expert opinion The successful candidate will have: 1.
