About the role
DESCRIPTION
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Our regions are the primary means by which we deliver AWS services around the world and we are seeking a Technical Business Developer to participate in and influence new business capture strategy and proposals for new regions. We need a motivated, flexible Technical Business Developer to help us meet these needs.
Technical Business Developers will scale their perspective from opportunities and implementation to strategies for large customers or geographic regions. We value the ability to proactively and productively engage in discussions with stakeholders, across AWS, with differing perspectives, opinions, and priorities while driving to solutions that best serve our customers.

Key job responsibilities - Provide expertise in new region design, build, and operations - working closely with our sales teams on opportunities for new regions. - Provide technical expertise in customer meetings and workshops, inputs to written proposals, and guide our approach to building regions in response to emerging customer needs and unique opportunities. - In this role, you will be at the forefront of AWS solutions and working directly with potential customers. - Utilise your technical background to effectively convey complex technical concepts in written and verbal communications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience - Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level - 7+ years of experience with a technology-focused company - 3+ years of experience responding to requests for proposals (e.g. determining requirements, matching to technical approach and solutions, developing solutions against requirements)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner - Bachelor's degree in business economics, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, information technology or equivalent

This team supports sales and focuses on customers and prospects across ANZ, moving new customers on to AWS and working with existing customers to realize transformational opportunities within their business enabled by the Cloud.
