Why Deakin University

Deakin University aims to be a catalyst for positive change for the individuals and the communities it serves. This will be achieved by ensuring our teaching, research, partnerships and international programs are relevant, innovative and responsive. By pursuing these objectives, Deakin aspires to be recognised as Australia’s most progressive university.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the daily operations of the Deakin-led cohort study “Triple B Pregnancy Cohort Study: Bumps, Babies, and Beyond”. The Senior Project Officer will be responsible for managing the current wave of data collection “Life at 15”, including participant recruitment, follow-up, and reimbursement; ethics modifications; participant engagement and communications; and participant tracing.

The Senior Project Officer will also work with the principal investigator, Associate Professor Delyse Hutchinson, and other investigators across several institutes as well as project staff and stakeholders to facilitate the successful running of this NHMRC-funded study.

This unique role requires a strong communicator who is able to manage multiple stakeholders and has the confidence to conduct themselves in a professional yet friendly manner. Experience working with longitudinal studies and/or with families in a research setting is desirable.
