About the role
We're looking for a Backend Product Engineer with 3+ years experience in backend development to join our growing Engineering Team. As a Backend Product Engineer, you'll be working alongside our Product Manager and your co-engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable backend systems.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Working in a fast paced, startup environment where fluid and evolving requirements need to be clarified and downstream implications thought through
- Developing robust, high-performing and scalable backend systems
- Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimising backend services for maximum availability, performance and reliability
- Maintaining and improving CICD pipeline.
- Actively participate in code reviews, technical discussions and cross team domain knowledge Sharing.
- Having a team first mindset, and putting the needs of the team above your own.
Technologies You'll Work With:
- Microservices and Event Driven System
- TypeScript, NodeJs and Serverless Framework
- AWS Services: Cognito, Amplify, SNS, API Gateway, Lambda, Aurora, ECS, and OpenSearch
- Databases: Postgres, Memcache and Airtable
- Test Automation: Develop robust tests using Jest, incorporate performance testing with the tool k6 to ensure optimal application efficiency and resilience.
- Monitoring & Logging: X-Ray, Dynatrace; CloudWatch and ELK/Splunk
- CICD: CircleCI

Design and manage databases to store and retrieve data efficiently, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance

Monitor backend systems, analyze performance metrics, and troubleshoot errors or bottlenecks to ensure system availability and optimal functionality

Build robust and secure APIs that facilitate communication between frontend and backend systems or external services
