Graduate Data Engineer

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the uplift in the data engineering practise across the Bupa enterprise, with support from experienced data engineering team members.

We are looking for bright, enthusiastic candidates with a true passion for Data Engineering.

Your approach to pipeline development, problem solving, risk management, analytical capability and your positive attitude will set you in good stead for this role. You will see how large enterprise organisations manage their data engineering practice at scale which will set you up for success for the rest of your career. You will learn data engineering frameworks and CI/CD routines as well as many other skills along the way.

All offers are subject to all candidates having successful background checks completed prior to the start date. The checks include Australian and International (if required) Police checks, 2 x reference checks and work rights. Offers can be withdrawn if the any of the background checks are not deemed successful by Bupa. Bupa will initiate the checks to the candidates through a company called Fit2work.

Entry Level (including Interns/Graduates)

A role for someone with underlying potential, good motivation and ability to learn. Typically no direct experience is required.

Data Pipelines

Develop and maintain processes for the extraction, flow, and transformation of data

SQL and Databases

Use SQL to query databases to extract and process data

Scripting and Automation

Develop scripts and automated workflows to improve the efficiency and accuracy of repeated tasks

Numerical problem solving

Works with numerical information and performs mathematical calculations to solve problems

Critical thinking

Identifies and synthesizes patterns and trends amongst various sources of information to reach a meaningful conclusion, perspective or insight

Attention to detail

Accurately identifies and rectifies discrepancies or errors that exists in information and deliverables
