About the role
The Aged Care Standards team is responsible for formulating a core set of clinical safety standards for aged care to address the clinical risk, and other safety and quality issues.
The Project Officer will support the development and implementation of Aged Care Standards. This work will involve organising and assisting with public consultation processes, providing secretariat support to program committees, undertaking literature reviews and analysing information, drafting papers across the program areas and providing project support.
Position duties include:
- Procurement and project management duties
- Administration of committees and secretariat support
- Manage program budgets
- Research, review and analyse data, reports, published material and expert opinion
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills, including demonstrated sound judgement and innovative problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
- Demonstrated strong writing skills, including the ability to write high level documents including briefing papers, reviews, submissions and meeting papers.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively and develop productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- An understanding of Australia’s health care system and key safety and quality issues relevant to Aged Care Quality Standards.
This role is for a period of 18 months.

Responsibilities
Execution and Project Management
Plan and deliver project plans by managing people, resources, budget, and timelines, to support the organization’s goals
Purchasing and Vendor Management
Manage suppliers and tasks, including negotiating contracts, controlling costs, reducing vendor-related risks, and ensuring service delivery
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with stakeholders to understand specifications, business requirements, and communicate insights.
