About the role

Excited to step into the dynamic atmosphere of broadcast control rooms? Over the course of a 12-month internship, you'll immerse yourself in Studio 44, the bustling hub for NBN News and Darwin News, dedicating 38 hours each week to hands-on learning and experience.

During your internship, you'll gain hands-on experience in various areas, from recording to editing, and beyond. This includes tasks such as uploading and downloading files from the Sony Ci Media Cloud Platform, learning ENPS (our News Production System), and communicating/liaising with our News Rooms in Sydney, Newcastle, and Darwin.

It's all about the right attitude and a passion for broadcast. Starting at Mount Coot-Tha, this entry-level position offers weekday hours, with the potential for weekend shifts once you're up to speed.

What we would like to see: 

  • Proactive, passionate and enthusiastic attitude 
  • Can work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in the basics of broadcast and IT systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Can provide support and guidance when needed
  • Comfortable using computers, with general skills
  • Some familiarity with TV production, especially in studio operations, is a plus
