A reflection on the year that was, our biggest and best yet.

As a team, there are a few things we know about systemic change and innovating in a sector that has remained unchanged for quite some time.

It is hard, and it is worth it. 

We remain convinced that people are more than their resumes, and that hiring processes are broken. And so it turns out, over 150,000 young people in Sydney think so too. 2023 at Hatch was by far our most pivotal, and most impactful – and we’re only just getting started. 

Our team is small and mighty and we care deeply about our mission to help as many people as we can, find meaning in work. In this reflection, we’ll highlight some of the most exciting things that have happened this year that have contributed to our rapid growth. Let’s jump in. 

📈 Our community doubled 

In 2023 alone, Hatch doubled the size of its talent pool - over 150,000 early career folk are now using Hatch to land their next career move. What we find most exciting is the way that our community resonates with our mission.

💥 We launched our best features yet

Prompts & Projects

🖼️ Candidates are now adding prompts, projects and intro videos to their profiles giving them new ways to stand out. This was a huge product milestone for Hatch. 

AI Matching

🔍 We took our AI matching capabilities to a whole new level, now matching on holistic fit based on strengths, team fit, responsibilities, and activity. 

ATS Connection

🔌 We introduced the ability for employers to connect Hatch with major ATS providers. This means that it is easier than ever for employers to keep their hiring workflows organised while making use of Hatch’s talent pool, application experience, and rich candidate profiles.

🎥 Boosting employer brand 

Hiring teams on Hatch now have the opportunity to showcase their employer brand and connect with Gen Z through engaging content and company profiles. On top of this, if you don’t have engaging content already, we’ll come out to your office and create it for you!

🤝  Collaborating with the best 

In 2023 Hatch got to showcase to the 🌍 the depth of our mission at events like SXSW Sydney and through new and ongoing partnerships with leading educational institutes like UTS, USYD, UNSW and UOW

A big thanks to our community 

Without our close community of hiring teams and candidates, we wouldn’t be where we are today. There has been so much support, particularly around product feedback that we are super grateful for. We can’t wait to continue these relationships and together, help people find meaning in work.
